I had a friend years ago who had the same birthday as mine. He always played his birthday (Pick four I believe was the game) and one week he bought twice the number of tickets as normal. He won and bought a house with his winnings. I thought he should share with me because our birth date was the same. He didn't agree! :o)

A friend of mine won £120,000 a good few years ago, he died roughly a year after that, leaving what remained to his son, who very quickly snorted the rest of the winnings up his nose (as if there was anywhere else to snort it). He also died about 18 months after getting the money.
Just call me unlucky, I've never won anything worth snorting ;)

A business associate won a large amount (about 2 million I believe). He was friendly and outgoing and thankful....a great guy. He is now, suspicious, untrusting and living in a large, beautiful home with only his wife around, in total isolation. He "knows" that people only want to be with him because they want his money and every business in town tries to rip him off, again, because they know he has money. Very sad outcome.

My Sister in law's sister won $500,000- on the lottery in Australia about 35 years ago. They had a good spend up, toured around Europe , visited everyone back home here. They returned home , and bought a new house . Unfortunately, her husband had a gambling habit, and managed to loose a lot of it, and also lost most of the remaining on the stock market.
