    To our resident cooks....

What is YOUR favorite way to cook asparagus. (If you don't cook, go ahead and ask your significant other for the recipe.) Your input will be appreciated! Thanks.

I like to sautee my Asparagus with a drizzle of olive oil, squeezed lemon or orange,  a few shakes of soy sauce or Worcestershire sauce and slithered almonds.

Bacon wrapped Asparagus cooked on an outdoor grill tastes divine. I don't like the asparagus here because the stalks are too thick.

Thanks Ben but REAL cooks give complete details. :)

I cannot steal from cb, I must admit that her suggestion of bacon wrapped and grilled is my very favorite. Wrap a half slice of bacon around a bundle that will fit. Secure with a toothpick. Grill until the bacon is cooked to your liking. I did read one suggestion that you marinate the stalks in equal parts salt and sugar. They did not explain. I would think you dissolve the s.s. in water first, I dunno. Me? I say wine....

    Don't care for that recipe!

I can understand that...self-preservation. If it became too popular, your safety could be at stake!

Roasted in the oven with olive oil, kosher salt, and cracked black pepper. Yum!

I like grilled best, but have no recipe to share

    Because?
    Bob/PKB

I seldom buy asparagus, because it's very expensive. It's packaged in the store to feed an army. I steam it when I do buy it, served with hollandaise sauce, which negates more salt.

Year round growing season there and it's expensive? That surprises me.
    Bob/PKB

Often five dollars a pound, which seems pricey to me for a vegetable. I enjoyed many vacation meals that included asparagus, though...as many as 4 stalks!

Wow. I just bought some a few days ago....$1.99 pound. It's a different story though during our winter when it comes from.....Florida or California! Sometimes as high as $7.99 pound...not many buyers at that price. :(

Foolishness! They'd rather it go bad than sell it for less gain.
Don't get me started on retail greed

I saute in olive oil and sea salt then cover it a few minutes and eat it! Good!  We grow some so this is my Fav way of eating it! Hated it when I was a kid!

I hated it until about 5 years ago. Now I love it. I guess it's all in the way it's prepared. I've just done the olive oil and salt prep so far.

I like to boil it so it's Al Dente  ( sp ? ) Then, I like to put butter on in and season it.

    Steamed

That's how my wife does it, it needs the butter and season.

Steamed and drizzled with Hollandaisse sauce! Mmmmm!
