Benny.??does the bible say,he created the earth in 6 days and rested on the seventh day,,
    Bob/PKB

How long was a day at that point in time?
    terryfossil 1

Bob.my understanding is,1 day in Gods life is 1000 years in ours, hence he created the earth in 6 days=6000 years in ours..plus 2017 years since the death of Christ..???????..however science does not go anywhere near this figure..>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<..
    Bob/PKB

Terry, Christ wasn't born on the 8th day. Lives were hundreds of years long, too. The genealogy alone suggests thousands of years. Who knows how much time elapsed between each recorded history in the Bible? There's no reason science and the bible aren't in agreement on the age of the planet, all things considered.

the days the bible talks about are different from our days, b/c our days relate to the earth turning on it's axis. And by the way, I heard that the earth is tipped a little off it's axis; and that could explain global warming.

@ Bob,i know, but the birth of Christ is the best date we have,as it was only 2017 A.D. as for the rest i will leave that to God,the back to God are of little relevance to me,the years to when Jesus comes back,,now that is a whole different ball game..>>>>>>>><<<<<<<..
    Bob/PKB

For sure, Terry, and, as I said, I surely do not know. :-)
And Christ's birth was about 2017 years ago. The Bible tells us there were 20 (?) generations between David and Jesus, and 20 before that.
    It's an interesting question...

    4.543 billion years.

Same guess as Ben, give or take an hour or two,+6 no 7th.

what happened to commas in numbers ?
    ROMOS

FYI, decimal numbers have a point, not a comma, just saying, I know it must be difficult for some Americans to grasp.

Yes, not many of us Americans have the superior intellect of the rest of the world.

Your translation of the decimal to imperial is superb P.

    I'm the exception!

Well, certainly older than 2000 years and counting. It's difficult to fathom a billion years let alone more. I heard of a carbon test being used on a living muscle, living mind you, that it was so many hundreds of years old. I know next to nothing about diamonds but don't they take a jillion years to form? And what about the really, really big ones? So, to answer you, yet, I just don't know.....

    I don't know, Terry.

Anybody who wants to go to Heaven has to believe that the Universe was created in 6 days about 6,000 years ago. See www.creation.com for confirmation.

First up Nom,your link is up for sale,,that is working on the premise that that one day in Gods life is 1000 days in our life..but you are putting time on an eternal God that knows no time..>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<..
    mycatsmom

Their days in the old Testament were different from our days.
    mycatsmom

Jesus said anyone who believes in Him and walks with God will go to heaven.
