We live in a Company Title Building on the top floor. Our company is trying to put another floor on top of ours to sell. What rights do we have to either stop them or have some control over what type of sound proofing etc. we could insist upon?

We were willing to buy the space above us but we agreed on a price verbally some years ago and it has taken three years to get to the stage of having documents ready for DA approval and now they want to put the price up and we don't think we can afford it anymore.

I think you are between a rock and a hard place my friend, first of all you could check that he is obeying the height restrictions if any, approach the council and ask if you can object to him getting a permit to build,,outside of that you could have a yarn with a lawyer,,i do not know what other options you might have, best of luck mate..>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<..
