Now THAT I've never heard about. Sweet and salty would be good I imagine.
In my family it only came up at Christmas time only we called it "Trash". Wonderful stuff. I guess not everybody can be from Texas, huh CB?
There are different variants, but this mix seems to be the most popular. I've heard it being called "Trash" too, J.

For thanksgiving and Xmas our menus changed from year to year BUT the one consistent was spiced peaches. Never saw them any other time and can't find them in stores now. Dang.

Spiced peaches were a holiday meal staple when I was a child. They were available, canned, in the grocery stores during the Thanksgiving and Christmas season. I've not been able to find them for years, so I improvised my own recipe. This dish compliments a traditional turkey dinner.

29 ounces canned peach halves (I prefer Del Monte.)

Hopefully they will turn out perfect ! So far so good. Will give them a taste check again tomorrow, and am hoping that they will be perfect for Thanksgiving Dinner.

I doubled the recipe, and strained the juice. Then poured strained juice over the peaches, after I had divided into 3 wide mouth jars and placed in the refrigerator

A wonderful recipe. I prepared it biweekly all summer and am about to make a big batch for Christmas. I find that I can double the peaches and increase the ther ingredients by 1/2 and get the same fine result.

Wow and thank you very, very much. I'll have to poll the household before I make them though. It seems I'm the only one with good taste around here. I'm copying the recipe and putting it in my recipe box. You have brought up pleasant memories for me. Thank you againm.....

We too drank egg nogg at Christmas, with rum in it. We learned that when I was little and we were over at my dad's best friend and his wife's house
We use to go over to uncle John's house and drink it.. I could never understand why I was only allowed one very very small glass..
