Obama has now commuted the sentences of another 90 criminals serving life sentences making the total he set free at 862. Do you agree with that ?

Your life is more threatened now. A lot of these people had life sentences, drug and weapon charges.  They were sent to prison to protect society , serve a sentence, and rehabilitate, now they are out . He released more convicts than the last 11 all together. How would you feel if one of these convicts committed a crime against you, and should have been locked up ? Until you have worked with these type of convicts you don't know what they are really like. They should have served their sentence and been paroled the right way, if they were ever to be released in the first place.

prison is like a revolving door. They'll go out and rape, rob , murder, hold up people, break in, molest kids. , etc---and be right back in jail again.

And leave dead or scarred-for-life victims to wonder how "this" could have happened.

Are they all psychos with a mental illness? Somehow I don't think so, there are many "long termers" lingering in prisons all over the world that really don't need to be there, and there are many psychos wandering our streets that really NEED to be there.

How much time do you think Obama spent personally learning about these people? This kind of action should follow your own soul searching, fact finding, even 1:1 interview

Surely someone of power has responsibility for these people, they have rights too.

I'm sure he just randomly picked the 90 meanest, ugliest, blackest dudes in there and released then in all-white neighbourhoods just ...cuz...that's why.

90 in one unit on the first floor of the first prison that was flipped on the deck of cards that was chosen by the First Lady, hmmm, maybe!

the former gov of Mich started releasing a lot of criminals in Mich.about 5 or 6 years ago. So we had more than the usual bunch of rapes, robberies, murders, child molestations, for a few year till they got rounded up again.
    Bob/PKB

    They have rights.
Convicted and sentenced by a jury of their peers, or agreed in advance to waive a jury trial.
    Adequate counsel, and countless appeals...
What rights have they been denied?
Are we not allowed the expectation that life sentences are appropriately meted?

Oh, how pink the sky is in your little white world.

Gotta git me one of 'em snazzy looking shirts for my upcoming date at a California Wendy's.

I don't agree with anything that $%=#ing  moron has done in 8 years.

You do not release those people unless you expect them to contribute to the anarchy that's been your racist, anti-REPUBLIC goal from the start.

    $%=#ing moron.

....no, it is an arrogant elite political power play and legacy ploy that discredits the constitutionally established legal system.

....would he accept liability for their future crimes ?

    THANK YOU.

Congress has reduced mandatory sentences for certain drug crimes, thousands of Americans are still serving long sentences that current law no longer requires. GO FIGURE!

Who can possibly decide which prisoner is now able to function in society as a decent citizen and which prisoner will return to the same criminal lifestyle? I don't believe that 'most' can be rehabilitated nor even that 'many' can. I think only a 'few' can and will. How do you choose those few?

I'm all for it , of course . Most , the majority of these guys are in for nonviolent crimes . Like the guy doing life for the possession of a joint . No rapist or train robbers in the lot . Excuse me , I'm voting right now ......

Have you looked into the specifics in regards to the 90 latest criminals ? Or do you simply believe that all life sentences ought to be served, period ?

There are crims in jail that may never offend again,,if they are the ones you are talking about,i think that is fine..i once knew a fella that killed his wife and wifes boyfriend when he caught them in bed together,he done 15 years, and he was never gonna be a problem to society again..he shoulda been let out a bit earlier..>>>>>>><<<<<<<<..

    zorro

The whole problem you never know what somebody will do if they get out. Oh they say they wont do anything. What if that someone killed a relative of yours. What would you say then. I was around these thugs a long time working in a prison system. I fully support the death penalty now. There are alot of very bad people that should never ever be allowed back into society. Most probably wont break the law again, but.

Zorro, good people can become bad people depending on circumstances,so that stands to reason bad people can become good people,,i am pretty sure all the crims you seen inside were not all bad people,,let me tell you something you already know, some of the screws inside should not be let out either,,in this world everybody is capable of change, but if nobody is given the chance to change, then nothing will change in anything you wish to name,,Your circumstances in life could change badly, and out of nowhere you could find yourself on the wrong side of the bars,,hold you hand up and point one finger at something, now look at your hand and you will see 3 fingers pointing back at you,,worth thinking about hey..>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<..
    zorro

Thank you !! There are a number of reasons , physical , mental, environmental,

    TU Zorro..>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<..

Why do they let these violent criminals go and then imprison harmless people for a long time -----like Jim Bakker, Martha Stewart ?

    ROMOS

They broke the law, what's good for the goose etc etc!

Not sure about the details of Martha Stewart's situation because I didn't pay much attention but I know that Jim Bakker bilked thousands of people out of money in the name of (his type of) Christianity. He was pathetic, not harmless!
