Have you ever adopted an abandoned animal ?

About 7 days ago I noticed a dog sitting out by the highway outside of town. Didn't think anything about . But I kept seeing it at the same location for several days. Some sorry SOB dumped the animal along the highway and it stayed there waiting for the owner to come back. Someone else with animal society went out and took the animal in and asked us to adopt it. Very bad shape without food or water for several days. Yes we are adopting this female dog in the next few days. Its at the vet recovering and under observation.

I'm not surprised with your compassion. Bet you'd like to leave the dog's previous "master" in javelina country for a week with no food and water.

That's really kind hearted of you Zorro, poor little dog. What sort of people leave animals like that.
    Zorro you are a star.

I have rescued a few dogs and a cat.  There have been several dogs I have wanted to rescue, but they were too afraid to come to me. My biggest regret is not being able to rescue a white poodle type dog that was abandoned on the highway near a liquor store. The dog was skin and bones, had a severe skin allergy or mange and a huge cut on its head. I had not been long divorced and had not a dime to my name so I could not rescue this dog. I contacted a couple local vets to ask for help, but I was informed this was out of their jurisdiction so no help was offered. I seriously considered running over the dog to kill it so he/she would be put out of its misery. I had to move several hours away, so I do not know what happened to this dog, but I fear the worse.

Its just all about taking the time and money to bring an animal into the family and giving it a better life .

Adopted our wee boy into a BETTER home, I think he's happy, I certainly am.

    Yep,one dog and one cat,Timmy and Snoopy..>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<..""

I have literally lost count of the "reject" dogs and cats who have graced my life.

Our boy cat Sinbad lived next door for the first few months, he kept coming into our house and settling in one of the chairs , our little female cat kept washing him and mothering him. I kept taking him back to our neighbour, but by the time I was back home he was in front of me, then my wife fed him, and that was it he stayed. The neighbour just said well he may as well stay with you now, they had a young child who kept putting him in bags and sliding him down a water slide, he still doesn't like bags or children.
