    Tommyh

I can toss a boomerang too Terry.Did you ever go to Hawes Boomerang Factory at Mudgeeraba?
    terryfossil 1

No Tom,i grew up in Inala,i used to go to school with the Bell brothers, and their father used to make boomerangs at their house,,we used to test them out for him..>>>>>>>><<<<<<<..you getting any positive feedback on your treatment mate..???????
    sunnyB

Yes I am married, but as my wife would tell you , my cats come first. If I call Wilma and say come on sweetheart my wife always answers thinking I'm calling her.
    jhharlan

I have an accent but I don't think it's a drawl. Grew up in Austin where everybody is from someplace else, hard to keep your twang that way. Now my mother! Only her kids could understand her....
    Tommyh

Not yet Terry.I'll know more on Thursday.
    terryfossil 1

    @ Tom TU mate..>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<..

    Bob/PKB

    Lindilou, I'm 5' 4 1/2".

    lindilou

He was awesome as Magnum P.I. as I recall!!

I would ask Roy what it is like in Scotland and is Nessie real, and as we may be going to Canada next year,i would like to know the differances between Canada and Australia,,and do Canadians really believe in Bigfoot???.and i would like to talk to Hec,and get his email working if he wanted to..and to be honest. i would happily talk to all of the regular AKA members,,except for maybe 1,,at a long stretch maybe even that fence could be mended..>>>>>>><<<<<<<..

    lindilou

This is so funny Ter ... the reasons you give for unbelief were the ones I would give for belief! Oh man ... I am so screwed!! LMAO
    terryfossil 1

Just differences of opinion Lindi, not all people believe the same thing..>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<..
    lindilou

Yes but it is possible that I am a bit gullible and biased which I do admit and I find myself having a good laugh at myself ... the differences can never outweigh our similarities though. Tnx fer the smile!
    terryfossil 1

    Your welcome Lindi..:):):):):):):):)..>>>>>>>><<<<<<<..

It would be nice to see photos of all the akaQA family that is left.

I'd like to know more about growing up and living in Scotland, and naval service from Roy. I'd like to know about living in an English village, and if SunnyB and hector were "fans" of "All Creatures Great and Small".

I'd like to know what living in Germany is like, west-bus.

To all of you, your favorite memory as a child, an item from your bucket list that's not just a dream, and your biggest regret.

A relative of mine wrote All Creatures Great and Small " ; All Things Bright and Beautiful " and all his other books. His name was not James Herriot. His name was James Wight. There is no R in that last name. He is in my family tree book.
    Bob/PKB

That's really interesting, MCM! Our family watched the show every Monday night and I have the complete video set, but need a VHS player that won't eat the tapes. I knew his real name was James White, but I have always spelled it like the color. Every one of his books is in my library. His stories were so well written. What an honor to share heritage!
    Flip

I have two typical days, one when I am working at my shipping business, and the second when I'm playing "retired".
1: Rise anywhere from 3 am to 6 am, two cups coffee while I catch up on my computer stuff, breakfast of cold cereal with banana, hop in my van and either travel to customer's homes to pick up boxes all day, or take an all day trip to the eastern shore to deliver said boxes to the company warehouse. Return home around 7pm and crash...
2: Rise anywhere from 3 am to 6 am, two cups of coffee, breakfast, walk dog, spend rest of day on computer and/or doing odd jobs around house, second dog walk around 4 pm then back to computer.
3: I know...... I said just two...... My wife comes home for the weekend, so those days are controlled by her.
    Bob/PKB

Thank you, Flip. You have long hours! I'll bet you look forward to weekends with your wife. Thank you for sharing.
Are those trips to the eastern shore day trips or overnighters?
    terryfossil 1

I believe Aussie has more safety and freedom than a lot of the older countries,,as we are only a tad over 200 years old, there are a lot of older countries we could learn from, but i fear we are making the same mistakes..speaking from an older generation point of view, progress is diluting the great way we were,,our distance from the rest of the world insulated us from the rest,,progress has taken that insulation away,,and us and the rest of the world are speeding as one towards...( what.?????? ) just my opinion Bob.>>>>>>>><<<<<<<..
    Bob/PKB

I sense a similar sadness as I feel, Terry.
    terryfossil 1

Sadly i reckon you are right Bob,it aint just an Aussie disease,,>>>>>>>><<<<<<<..
    Flip

Bob/PKB: Trips to eastern shore are day trips consisting of about 11 hours except when wife's hair dresser friend is up from Texas, and wife goes with me and we stay overnight.
    Bob/PKB

Flip, would that be every 4-6 weeks? :-)
    Flip

Bob/PKB: About once a month and twice each Sept & Oct for shipping to arrive for Christmas.
    Bob/PKB

    Thanks for your answer, Flip!

I"d like to ask Hectie if he just puts that on that he can't spell........b/c some of his spelling is ok. And I'd like to ask our Australian friends if they saw the old movie..........Crocodile Dundee  ...........and what did they think of the portrayal of the Out Back and Australians from that area.... ?

    terryfossil 1

As for the crocodile hunter MCM,Steve Irwin is was a bit over the top,,but his knowledge of animals is up there with the best..if he had medical knowledge he would not have pulled the stingray barb out of his chest that killed him,,the outback looks just like it is portrayed,,the characters in the movie are actors,,but there are fellas and sheilas like that out there..>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<..This link was a lady trucker who died doing her job..https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d9-xdtSJHfM
    mycatsmom

Sorry , Terry. I meant the movie Crocodile Dundee , from the 80s. I changed that in my question. But the info about Steve Irwin was informative and interesting. I don't think he could have pulled the barb out, b/c of the hook on the end of it.
