              Happily the tactics of war have changed somewhat,,we no longer walk blindly into enemy gunfire,,The tactics were the same tactics used at the battle of Waterloo and were very outdated..read the bottom part of this link,,,however it does not take away from the bravery of the infantry soldier...http://www.express.co.uk/news/history/684454/losses-suffered-Pals-brigades-battalions-Battle-of-Somme

                Yes we should never forget what they did. My grandfather was there, he was lucky, he survived . It must have been like hell on earth .
