    I love my son, but

when he left for Boot Camp, I took stuff that wasn't ready for storage, like his bedding.

I've washed it all, in hot soapy water, but it still doesn't smell fresh.  What do you HELPFULLY suggest.

I don't need dumba$$ or smarta$$ answers, thank you very much.

LMAO!...I understand now! Quite funny, don't you think!

Someone who owned bush camps told me that a little Borax in the washing machine helps with the musty smell along with what others have suggested, sunshine and wind.

Geezo, is Borax still around, ma Mum and Gran used it often during the war?

It is. I just bought some a few weeks ago because a friend told me she likes to use it to clean sinks, toilets and taps. That's exactly what I said. "Borax, is that still around?" (Not every store has it.)

My wife would probably do the hottest wash that the material could stand, and then hang it all out in the fresh air, she puts every thing out to dry and air. And I must agree, there is nothing like the smell of washing that's been out in the fresh air.

A liitle white vinegar added to the wash will give the smell of freshness when dried outside, no driers.  :)

I guess just put it in a washing machine and hang it out to dry,,to be honest i do not know how to work the washing machine,i am one of those spoilt kept men..:):):)..>>>>>>>><<<<<<<,..

Me too Terry, best to not try to do those jobs, never do them right, I find that's the best solution, And I definitely don't know where the iron is kept.

Whats an iron mate,,?????.i thought everything was drip dry and wrinkle proof..>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<..

Yep, vinegar. And a lot of it. Air dry and the vinegar smell will dissipate……...

Vinegar has the power to absorb smells rather than simply mask them like most commercial room fresheners do.

We use the cheapest Laundry soap we can find. Along with washing soda, vinegar, and then ammonia in the bleach cycle. This worked the best when we were working with waste vegetable oil when we made biodiesel.
