.....someone tossed out their bottle and broke it on the side walk. I yell, "PICK UP THAT GLASS, NOW !", heard nothing and came in to tell James. Well went exploring but they were gone. What would YOU have done?

I had a similar incident happen to me last week. The rubbish bins are dumped only once every two weeks so they fill up and the lids won't close. The seagulls and crows tear open the bags to get to the food causing loose garbage to blow out of the bins. The loose garbage blows in front of our flat and collects underneath the bushes and the corner wall at the end of the paved walk. The people living in the two bottom flats smoke cigs in the close and then toss their butts outside the front door where everyone has to walk through.
I grab a large garbage bag and go outside about once every 2 or 3 months and clean up the property. Last week I must have picked up at least 100 cig butts and as I was picking the butts up the people downstairs were smoking and tossing their butts on the ground in front of me. I was steaming mad, but I didn't say a word to them because they are all adults and they should know better so it would be pointless for me to ask them to stop.

Being confrontational these days, is rather risky. Who knows which person is carrying a gun or a knife. It usually isn't the calm, respectful, rational persons in our society but more often the angry and agitated ones who seemingly hate everyone. Their concern is for themselves and not others. Be cautious!
