The North Americans use Phonetic Spelling, it is easy but a lazy way of spelling, why they don't use Oxford English grammar, i don't know at least when we see it we know it's either Canada or the US. :)

Terry, I didn't know tire (referring to the four rubber wheels on a standard automobile) could be spelled with an alternative "y".
