Do you remember old fashioned TV dinners? Which one was your favorite?

There were 8 kids living under the same roof at one time so we were served a lot of TV dinners. My favorite TV dinner to eat was Swanson Turkey dinner.

Never really tried many! Too expensive! Bought hamburger for 3# pounds at 1 dollar! Made all kinds of things out of that! Lots of fat back then but what to do do? Eating fat wasn't horrible then!

I remember walking home roughly 3 miles from being at the matinee pictures, on the way buying freshly made chips for threpance ( 4 cents today's money $ 4.00 ) wrapped in news paper, tastes a lot better than todays chips, it must have been the newspaper. :)

Never had one when i was a kid, never even seen one, In oz when we had dinners like in your photos they were always freshly cooked. even if they were available my mother would have shunned them, nothing but the best for my father and her three sons. :)

Yeah,.she was a great cook, the generation when mums/moms were housewives, i only wish i asked my mother and father more about their past before it was too late, being in my early thirties that was furthest from my mind, pity.
