    Trying to figure it out and remember w/o looking it up. Can YOU remember?

      Rapunzel, you're getting your Fairy tales mixed up, Rumplestiltskin was a different story.


      Sorry Jules, it's me that's getting mixed up, don't think "the millers daughter" had a name, she spied on Rumplestiltskin in the woods to learn his name.

        Rumpelstiltskin is one of my all time faves. As Kent mentioned, the Miller's daughter was not mentioned by name.  I did a little research and found something very interesting. Rumpelstiltskin in German means little rattle stilt


        Stilt: Post or pole for supporting a structure.


        Rumpelstilt or Rumpelstilz: Name of a type of goblin that makes noises by rattling posts and rapping on planks.

          In the story she was known as The Millers Daughter then after she married the King, Mistress Queen, when i was very young this story was frightening to me, what a Woosie .  :)
