Yes, I write in cursive.
I researched your comment and found several references to 41 states abandoning cursive in their curriculum because (words to the effect) handwriting is becoming obsolete. Now, it is more important for a person to use a QWERTY keyboard than know how to apply a signature to a legal document. Another article suggests that handwriting is not important.
Guess the diary and journal publishers are going out of business. Calligraphy will fall by the wayside, and reading our historical documents may become impossible in future generations. Wonder if the rest of the world who shares our alphabet is as short-sighted as those 41 states, led by governors who possibly printed their names when signing the bill into law?

Yes, I can write cursive and read cursive and teachers probably want it removed because THEY CAN'T, along with the inability to teach proper grammar and spelling! (Remember the age of the average teacher these days). It's easier to tell kids, just keep your head down and type...Ur, Ic, we8. No more need to write, spell or construct a decent sentence! It all goes together....communication it seems, is not a subject of any importance. It's common now, to read an article in a newspaper, receive a letter from a business, or get an email, that you have to read 2-3 times, in order to understand the thought.
In case you haven't noticed, I think it's a bad idea!

They stopped teaching cursive in the school districts here in Mich. 5 or more years ago. They said it's b/c nobody uses it anymore. No one writes letters or writes out checks anymore :-\
