When a person tells you who they are, believe them. (Oprah or Dr. Phil)

How many of us need that suggestion? What prompted her to say that? It must be a heckuva story!
Along the lines of "When we were dating, he used to tell me that he_________ and then after we got married, I realized that he hadn't been joking." :(
oh, not good. I didn't know Oprah had ever been married. Come to think of it, my cousin's 5th husband turned out to be a real Jekyll and Hyde. Lucky she was able to annul the disaster and didn't have to be responsible for the ridiculous spending spree he undertook upon saying "I do". :( Yes, I said 5th.
Oprah has never been married. Lives with Stedman somebody for many years. She (or Dr. Phil) was speaking of relationships in general. In other words, pay attention to what the potential life partner is telling you. If he sounds like a jerk, marriage won't fix him. He is telling you who he really is. (All can apply to 'she' as well.)
Let me talk to your ex wives and girlfriends Donald. Let me see where you live Donald. Let me talk to your co-workers Donald. I'd like to see you at a party Donald. Let me see how you treat service people Donald. Let me see how you drive your car Donald. Let me see your bank account Donald. Let me see how you treat your mother Donald. But....I digress! LOL!!!
A typical (female) duck request: "Let me see your bank account." Sorry, but you're out of "duck".
When confronted by a snobby woman accusing him of being drunk, Winston Churchill famously said " and you are ugly Madam, but at least I shall be sober in the morning"!

I remember hearing that years ago and appreciating the quick, acerbic wit. Still a bull's eye
Never in the field of human conflict has so much been owed by so many to so few.

Good one, Sunny, properly the best quote ever, how true of the Battle of Britain. --- great movie. :)
I would like to take this opportunity to those who may have heard or read this quote to see the complete transcript of Winston Churchill's famous quotation:
"The gratitude of every home in our Island, in our Empire, and indeed throughout the world, except in the abodes of the guilty, goes out to the British airmen who, undaunted by odds, unwearied in their constant challenge and mortal danger, are turning the tide of world war by their prowess and by their devotion. Never in the field of human conflict has so much been owed by so many to so few. All hearts go out to the fighter pilots whose brilliant actions we see with our own eyes day after day, but we must never forget that all the time, night after night, month after month, our bomber squadrons travel far into Germany, find their targets, often under the heaviest fire, often with serious loss, with deliberate, careful discrimination, and inflict shattering blows upon the whole of the technical and war-making structure of the Nazi power. On no part of the Royal Air Force does the weight of the war fall more heavily than on the daylight bombers who will play an invaluable part in the case of invasion and whose unflinching zeal it has been necessary in the meantime on numerous occasions to restrain."

It is not a requirement to be a democrat or a liberal to believe in taking care of the environment, protecting a forest or a species of fish. Perhaps I need to start my own "political party".
Who is the complete opposite of Trump? Which of the Republicans is most opposite this accident looking for a place to happen? PLEASE don't tell me you think Clinton or Sanders has something better to offer the world.
This is Bessy Braddock, the woman ROMOS and Nom are referring to in ROMOS's answer.
I couldn't get the photo to post in the "comment" section under ROMOS's answer.

Fortunately, he didn't have to!
When looking for a photo of Braddock, I saw at least one statue of her. She was definitely somebody of power and influence.
