I have an eye exam every two years but have not needed a new prescription for (I'm guessing) over 10 years. I first needed glasses when I was eight years old but got contacts, forty five years ago. I use reading glasses with my contacts for newspapers, telephone books, computer, etc. Nice to not need to wear glasses all the time....steaming up in the cold, getting wet in the rain, etc.

I've been wearing glasses since fourth grade, when I was 9/10. In my early 20's, I got contacts, and got colored lenses (grey) about 3 years ago, then, two months ago, switched to aqua. They make my brown eyes a little more interesting.
My eyes are checked annually; the glasses are 3 years old and don't really work right, but I've figured out how to see what I need. I also have glasses to wear with my contacts, for closeup stuff, and they don't work right, either.
I've heard we become farsighted as we age. I am so nearsighted, if I live to be 125, l'll probably (at that point) have 20/20 vision!
