What is your opinion of health insurance companies?

What do you expect ? In my opinion they provide a pathway to limit healthcare. Here is my suggestion. Totally get away from health insurance companies. Let hospitals provide different policies for different coverages. Have the government provide subsidies to hospitals for the poor, disabled, and low income areas of country. The way health insurance companies make millions of dollars of profit , is again by limiting coverage and raising rates. You may not know this , but insurance companies cut doctors bill all the time as well. There is no good reputable health insurance companies out there. Its all about their profit . Veterans health care should be provided by local doctors not the sham and wasteful assistance of the veterans administration.

""In Aussie we have medibank private, with mine and venny's operations we have recieved more than we have put in,,however it is getting harder to pay the premiums as they go up in leaps and bounds,,they are probably losing money because so many people cannot afford to stay in it,,and the younger generation do not see why they should be in it,,when they get to 60 years old ,then they will say "oh that's why"..>>>>>>>><<<<<<<..

You’re right. It’s difficult dealing with health insurance. James cannot even get any kind of insurance because he makes less than 12,000 a year, has no taxable income so they are going to fine him for money he doesn’t have……… I have Medicare and I love it!

Also on medicare with Humana Advantage-Seems alright for now!

Agree with what you say about health insurance companies. My parents paid into BUPA (British United Provident Assn) for many years but did not pay anything towards my mother's Alzheimers. They do not pay out for chronic or incurable conditions.

In Europe we have tax funded medical care. We complain about the amount we have to pay but it is available to all regardless of income.

I enquired once about BUPA,and was told their was no reductions for a single person,so left it for those it appeal to more,

In 2014, my health insurance cost me about $7,800 AND then I had out-of-pocket expenses for every visit, every prescription, any and all lab work, mammogram and diagnostics.  That is a HUGE amount of money for someone who had nothing exceptional for the year.
The cost of the premiums is outrageous.

Same story here Bob,and getting higher..>>>>>>>><<<<<<..

all the health insurance companies want to send you home from the hospital quicker and sicker. They did me, after surgery and they did it to Don, my b. friend......after he went in for cancer of the spine  :-(
