Cotton balls in Scotland are called cotton wool. Roy can't stand the texture of cotton balls because to him it's like nails scratching across a chalk board or biting into a piece of foil with gold fillings. You should have seen Roy's face when I watched him open a gift packed with cotton balls on Skype. Priceless! :)
