The bitumen (black top) road is south from Kings Canyon on Luritja Road to the Lasseter Highway, then east to Erldunda on the Stuart Highway, then north to Alice Springs. It'll take about 4 hours.
It would be shorter to turn off Luritja Road onto Ernest Giles Road and follow it to the Stuart Highway. Similarly, it's shorter to head north out of Kings Canyon to Alice via Hermannsburg. But both require 4WD.
