Something like humans then, different tones of skin colour, wouldn't want to come across one of them though, come to think of it, there are some humans I don't fancy meeting either.

The last snake who poked his head out from a bush in my yard and hissed at my kids (who were 5, 4, and 2 at the time), got himself whooped with a big red plastic bat until he couldn't move, whereupon his head was chopped off with a shovel and the remains left to wriggle for hours. When Mr. Wonderful returned home, he berated me because the snake was a harmless garter snake.
Sorry, Snake, you hiss at my kids, you gonna die. Notice how the tail looks to have rattles!
