Velveeta Cheese: It's all about the experience. Read below.

Today Roy tried Velveeta Cheese for the first time, it is not sold in Scotland so I had it shipped from the USA. I'm not a big fan of Velveeta Cheese but I loved sharing this experience with him. If you met someone from another country which experience would you most like to share with him or her?

I was sent a small bottle of vegemite direct from down under, couldn't handle it, not even on buttered toast. I, in turn, sent him some chile petines (or pequins, or chiltapins, or you take your pick) to grow. He was worried about cross contamination.....

This is too much of a coincidence to be believed. I just bought a 2 pound chunk of Velveeta to make macaroni and cheese! It doesn't need to be refrigerated until it's been opened and will last for an additional 8 weeks in the fridge. I think I'll buy some tortilla chips for nachos.

Sharing "local" food with a foreign visitor is always a winner! My parents almost always barbecued marinated lamb shish kebab and served it with Armenian style pilaf and the cheese bourag I always take to my friend's holiday open house. Without Paklava for dessert, it would just be "another" meal. :D

BUT, living HERE, I am amiss if I don't take a visitor to Yosemite or Kings Canyon National Park.

Not necessarily another country but without saying it, I would prepare three dishes.....each being gluten free and dairy free. After the rave reviews, I would spill my secret. I've done it before and it is so rewarding. I'm smiling while I'm serving because I know from experience that according to most, it couldn't possibly taste good. :)

Years ago (during my "Gary" period), we had my best friend and her husband over for spaghetti dinner....you know the drill....spaghetti, garlic bread, salad, wine. They both had multiple helpings (I stopped counting after the 3rd refill) and couldn't say enough about the delicious meaty sauce.
We finally told them it was venison "burger", from the deer Gary had shot during hunting season. They both turned gray and left immediately.

Many years ago, I served a relative chili for lunch. She kept questioning if I had used particular spices in it because it was so delicious. When I told her after lunch that it was, in fact, moose meat, she got angry. Funny how the mind works. You and I could have a blast preparing a banquet! lol
