I agree with the death sentence in certain circumstances ie: child molesters/killers, cop killers etc, but the bizarre thing about this case was Gissendaner never killed her husband, she pleaded guilty to planning his murder and the guy who killed him got life (after a plea bargain), I must say, the American law system never fails to amaze me.

I thought I heard the story but I missed how long she served in prison first. Not that it matters but the system tends to drag it out what with appeals and such. After a while, wouldn't it be considered cruel and unusual? These inmates get away with a great deal. What are "they" going to do? Kill them?

There is no such thing as justice on this planet .... another case where a woman was severely abused by her boyfiend ... he got 2 years ... she got 30 years for not being able to protect her children ... these atrocities just go on and on and on ....
The death penalty fails at scaring people off of crimes like murder and rape because it is a penalty that simply puts the perpetrator to sleep... no pain or suffering.... if they brought back hanging it might be a different set of statistics however from what I have seen so far there is little that dissuades greed and greed is at the crux of more murders than anything.

People cannot, i mean CAN NOT, go around killing people because they wanted a hamburger; were in a bad mood; or simply went crazy for the moment. If there is no legal doubt . . . death for the killer. nothing less. When somebody kills somebody they have just proven that they are not fit to live in civilized society and they don't deserve to. Maybe in the future we will come up with something better for killers, but for right now death penalty should not be eliminated.
