What a coincidence. Two days ago, I yawned and dislocated my jaw. I am now awaiting a mouth guard ordered by my dentist, which I must wear, 24/7 and hopefully after (up to) three months, my jaw will return to its proper place! It doesn't always work and if not, "you just have to live with it". This will affect my eating and my speech. Ouch!!!

So sorry to hear that Ducky,hope things will turn out aright ,In my case I just trip over the doorstep,and ouch,
@Tommy...It sure is....worse the first day and really difficult to eat. Hopefully, it will "fix itself" and I won't need the mouth guard very long. :)
Oh, duck, mouth work is always such a chore. So sorry you are hurting but I’m not surprised. Just call me the doom sayer for mouth repair. I hope the guard fits your bill……...
Thanks jh. It had better fit "my bill" because "the bill" for this little piece of plastic will be $500.00+. I just hope it works.

Dang, I feel your pain. My jaw has been a mess since 16. It makes crackling noises you can hear 3 feet away. Chiropractic has improved it, though....you might look into it.
I have a bit of understanding for your plight Duck,,,i had my jaw broken in 3 places once,,my jaw was wired up like you would not believe,,so best of luck Duck..>>>>>>>><<<<<<<..
@Bob...Mine just started crackling a week ago and then fell apart. The dentist could not hear the crackling but it's loud inside my head. My jaw has settled down a bit so I can get my teeth together somewhat, enough to be able to eat soft foods.
@terry....A wired jaw is waaay more than what I have to contend with at the moment. Hopefully, when I get my guard installed, that will be enough to help it back to normal.

Good job, Romos. The pictures are so explanatory. I was born with a dislocated hip. that happens more often in girl babies than boy babies. Thus, I was not allowed to crawl around on the floor or do anything like that for the first year of my life.

Might as well toss in my 2 cents on the subject...
A fracture is a break. It can be very tiny, or it can be devastating. My dad and uncle had brief hospital stays.and physical therapy for their broken hips. My mother died.
Dislocated means the "ball-shaped" or moving part of the hip has moved off center of where it fits into the stationary socket.
