    I know that you can deposit up to a amount of money in to a bank befor the bank has to report it to the IRS

      I believe it's $9999.00 any thing higher goes to IRS.

        also, depends on the check. I received a check for over $13000 for body injury to me. All the bank did was advise me I couldn't draw on it for 3 days till it cleared from the insurance company's account.
