Are gambling winnings taxable in Australia?

No Clonge, Australians are not taxed on their winnings.

No, no opportunity really BUT! I did go in with some people drawing circles and placing jumping beans in the center, bet on which one would jump outside first!

I guess everybody went home with the money they went with,,>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<..

I know what a horse is. I know what a dog is. But.....  "a trot".

I don't bet on any of them but maybe I should know what a trot is, just in case.      :)

Oh that! I can't remember what we call it but it's not "the trots". That means running to the bathroom when you've eaten something you shouldn't. haha

Hey Duck,There are 4 things a horse can do,1.Gallop 2.Canter,3.Trot,4.and fall over,,,the horse with the harness tied to them are called harness racing..they are Trotters, hence we call them Trots for short,,during the race if the horse breaks into a gallop or canter,,they are disqualified ,,Always nice talking Duck..>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<..

We should talk Daren,We should talk..>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<..

I'm against horse racing and dog racing and all that.......b/c the animals are abused.......Even in the Ididarod sled dog race, the dogs are abused. If you hung around the horse race track, like I did, you'd see what really goes on there. When dogs or horses can't race any more, they become a liability instead of an asset, so then they are killed ,or worse.

I did work on a trotting track MCM,,All the animals were treated very well..>>>>>>><<<<<<<..

One year i was off work recovering from a hospital administered drug reaction. i lived right next to a horse racing track. i went there almost everyday for a year. fascinating to say the least. i bet sometimes and got to know many of the workers at the track.  i love the track and horse racing. however, after that year i don't bet on them anymore.

    Probably a good move Tab..>>>>>>><<<<<<<<..

None of them. I once bet on a horse at 10:1. It came in a quarter to four!
