How can I get my silver colored ring clean ?

It's not real silver. It's some alloy, but it used to be a pretty, shiny, silvery color. Now, it is dull gray and not even smooth anymore   :-(   It even has my name on it.

Line a wee container with tin foil, dilute a tsp of baking soda with a half tsp of salt in boiling water, put your items in this for about 30 minutes, should come out sparkling clean Julie, and it's cheap.

My scorched pan (milk) is clean and shiny now. I thought about you each time black floated to the surface

Romeos, Thx. I'm a big believer in baking soda to clean things, too. But, I didn't know about the tin foil. I'll try it. There's hope for my ring, and other rings too. Yay !

If you can't get it clean with any of the methods above, You might have worn through the plating and into the base metal.
