Seems to be time consuming for little return, I think I'll let my local council recycle it as usual, anyway, I don't have anywhere to burn it any more.

We haven't been allowed to burn garbage or leaves for many decades.

If it is not colored newsprint, it goes into wood stove, otherwise into recycle.  So with everyone tossing it, can it be worth the money spent?

I've been told that there is about a 2% return on flyers (aka junk mail) and that that's a pretty good return for their cost. I guess that means it will never end. :)

Again, no fire place let alone a bar-b-q pit and know no one who does. And can you believe it? My apartment complex doesn't recycle ANYTHING!

A great idea if you have a fireplace as for me i'll just continue to put them in the paper recycle bin..

If I could, I would throw my junk mail straight into the fire. However, my "fire" is a phony!          :)

I have a "phony" somewhere, too, and it's pretty annoying that I stored it last summer and can't find it....where does a thing like that hide??

    Is it a miniature? lol
    Bob/PKB

Nope! Just a cute little fireplace that is an electric heater in disguise. :D

Mine is the same...almost identical to this pic that I posted.

I don't know why all of you do put 'NO JUNK MAIL' on your letter box like i have, this solved the junk mail problem. :)

I'll try it, bulletman, but doubt the USPS will cooperate

G'day MsBob, by your comment does the U.S. Postal Service deliver brochures, flyers, pamphlets alias junk mail?
    Bob/PKB

Oh yes. Advertisements, solicitations, flyers, newspaper bits. Some of them have "bulk rate" postage, so it has to be delivered, AND you can't ask to have it "returned to sender". Kinda stuck.

Same in Canada, Bob.You can put all the signs you want on your mailbox....too bad....you get the flyers anyway. The post office gets paid to deliver them, so deliver them they must!

Sad, and a waste of resources, and a drain on refuse sites

I would think that flyers in our mail boxes would soon begin to fade away.
    bulletman

MsBob & Ducky, flyers etc. are usually dropped in letterboxes by individulists paid to do so, but only those without a 'No Junk Mail' label, obviously those that are stamped or franked are delivered by the postie in Australia which i think is the most practical way of delivering, i put the sign up whist i was away on vacation and did not receive any junk mail at all, my mail was held at the post office.
    Bob/PKB

We would post a "No Soliciting" sign to try and avoid "dropped off" advertisements, not that it would have any effect... :0

It's sad that trees have to die to make all that junk mail. Hopefully, they are making the paper from recycled paper.
