Both my maiden and married surnames are subject to mispronunciation for one reason or another. It doesn't bother me because it is understandable.
What DOES both me is seeing my FIRST name misspelled. I have NEVER seen ANYONE spell "Phyllis" in any other way than P H Y L L I S. There were 5 of us in a PE class in high school, and we all spelled it the same way. I'm named after a friend of my mom's. Phyllis Diller and Phyllis George spell their first name P H Y L L I S. Chloris Leachman starred in a sitcom spinoff of her character, PHYLLIS.
THAT bothers me. It ain't that hard. I use "Bob" whenever anyone needs my "name" to call me at a coffee shop or restaurant... No one misspells "Bob".

People call me Sharon a lot. On occasion I get a Debbie, Deborah or Diane.
My middle name is Diane soooo, I suppose that is close enough.I don't even want to talk about my last name, which is very simple and straight forward ...
I have decided that the mistakes add flair to my very colourful life. :) ........... Everyone needs a little flair!

This question could have been written by me. For a minute there, I thought it was. People have a hard time saying and spelling my name correctly. It is Juliana with one n . I get Julia a lot and Judy and Julie Ann. Julien, And even Julian , which is a boys name. The name Juliana is the feminine of Julian . I go by Julie , b/c when I went to kindergarten, my mom got everybody calling me Julie, b/c she thought Juliana was too big a mouthful. She got that from her mother-in-law ( my grandma) who called me " Lovey " The whole neighborhood called me Lovey till I went to Kindergarten. My mom said she " didn't want people calling me Lovey when I'm fat and forty "
I wish my mom would have let people call me by my right name.......Juliana .
I never had the problem of people calling me Julia till Julia Roberts became popular. Then, lots of people started naming their cats and daughters Julia
When I signed up for Comcast cable, they just had to spell my name wrong. I get mail from them and several other companies where it's spelled " Julieann " So, I can always tell which and how many companies Comcast sold my personal data to.
