Exactly. Be a responsible gun owner. Do not have your weapons where your children can have access to them. 

1. Since she had a conceal and carry permit, her purse is not the best place to keep the hand gun. She should have had it holstered and to the back of her hip with an article of clothing covering it. 

2. She should have had the safety on. If the gun had no safety, she should not have been carrying it. 

There will always be guns in the USA. That is a fact that will not change. There will always be stupid and irresponsible gun owners in the USA. That too is a fact and will not change. Hopefully this tragic accident will help to educate other stupid women who keep their hand gun in their purse and then set it next to little "Johnny" and expect him not to touch it. 

An unnecessary tragedy.
