    Did anyone have problems logging in to aka today,,my computer kept telling me the,, i could not connect to the webpage..that was at 11am  25-11-2014 tuesday....i was actually worried,,i thought aka had closed down,,,is there anyway we can keep contact with each other, should such a thing happen...>Always nice talking guys and gals ..>>>>>>><<<<<

    I had the same problem Terry.I thought it was an Optus problem.

    No Tom,,i do not think it is a IP problem,i am with Internode not Optus,,Roy had no problem,JH had no problem,,I think that makes it an Australian problem,,however i have no idea how that can happen Tom....

    It would be really nice to have an akaQA email directory available to those who are OK with their emails being shared.

    Hey Bob,,maybe via Skype,,you give someone your skype name,and text that person through skype.....how does that sound,,???????

    I'm not on SKYPE yet, but will work on it.....I've been saying this for months. But I promise to do it before Christmas. You can get my email from Tom, if you have his. I would enjoy hearing from you!

    You could write to "Admin" and ask them to send you my email address. I will send an email to them telling them it is OK with me.

      Must've been a wee glitch in your computer mate, never had any problem myself today, it happens sometimes, depending on the browser you use.


      As for your other point about aka, there are a few of us in contact with each other on skype, email, facebook etc but nothing is planned for aka going down (yet), I've been looking into setting up something but I'm not 100% computer savvy and setting up something similar to AkaQA takes $$$$$, perhaps something will come soon.

        So maybe we should offer certain people to swap email addresses,,How do you think that would go Roy.....

        It used to be done through Colleen, she had a lot of peoples email addresses, don't really know of another way of keeping it private, not always a good idea to display it on AkaQA, it being a "worldwide" site.

        i'd like to get skype, but don't have a clue what to buy or how to operate it. How did you guys learn........did your kids teach you ?

        MCM,, simply downloaded skype, went out and bought 2 small speakers and a cheap camera that hooks onto the top of my monitor,,,you do not have to use camera or speakers,,but you can text somebody anonymously,,you can use your speakers without using you camera,,I taught myself, it was not all that hard... all i can tell you MCM

        Type, free skype into your browser Juliana and follow instructions.
        If you have a laptop with a camera you wont need what Terry had to buy.

        I stayed logged in all the time, AKAQA is on my bookmarks. That helps as I’m no longer sure of my password……..

          Once in awhile, there is a "Snap" screen and I just reload the program; I've never had a problem logging on. 


          Like Julie, I stay logged in all the time, with akaQA as one of my bookmarks, too.  Most of the time, it is on an open tab at the bottom of my computer screen.
