I appreciate your concern for your friend, and am not buying the excuse that if he quits K2 he'll turn to alcohol.
Having been through addiction with very close family members (and always fearful of relapse), I can validate those who tell you that, until your friend is ready to make a commitment to being clean and sober, there isn't much you can do.
Nagging, cajoling, begging, joining in, distancing yourself....nothing is going to make a difference. I agree with talking to a doctor and/or attending NarAnon or AlAnon, which are organizations for those who have a loved one who is an addict or alcoholic. I found the meetings helpful, if only in that "misery loves company", but there are many resources available through either.
I hope he makes the choice sooner than later. The mothers of my grandchildren chose drugs over the kids, and both have lost their parental rights at this time, with both my sons enjoying the responsibility and privilege of full legal and physical custody. One of my sons is clean and sober; I'm not so sure about the other one...

I have not had pot in over 20 years. It was a good experience but not if you want to get anything done. So I quit. These days the pot may be different by hybrid variations. But I'm pretty sure it still wears off after a while. I have know many who thought they should go to a hospital after consuming pot...especially the first time. Acquired habits, sub-conscious resolutions and beliefs born in heritage bonds and hypnosis seem to completely loose emphasis. This fall-out is usually experienced as a form of euphoria and repeated experience eventually leads to recognizing the consumption of the drug is no longer desired.
Some of my friends choose to continue all their life. Of these, most are moderately wealthy are married and have kids in college and business.

K-2 comes from Asia......and it is legal......sold in gas stations . It's also called bath salts. It is an extremely powerful and dangerous synthetic drug. There have been several murders of an addict's parents and children and everything else done by persons on K-2. It is way more dangerous and powerful that alcohol. The state of Michigan has been rushing to make it illegal. They passed a bill thru congress real fast to make it illegal. And the police have been going around to gas stations to make sure nobody is selling it.
