I hope you like math, b/c I have a math question to ask you . I'm not good at math.

I want to make a flea bath. I have to pour one gallon of water into a bucket.. The bucket is not marked with gallons. I have an empty water jug that holds 101.4 FL . Oz . How much more of this will I have to pour into the bucket to make one gallon. It also says the water jug holds 3 QT. 5.4 fL OZ.   This is a serious question.

Wouldn't you have to be careful not to make "cat pickles"?

    LOL!!

MCM don't worry about using the  3 quart 5.4 fluid ounce jug instead use a one cup measuring cup.

**You will need to fill the measuring cup up 16 times.**

    There are:

        2 cups in a pint

        2 pints in a quart

        4 quarts in a gallon

1 gallon is equal to 16 cups.

And so two "C's" fit inside a "P," two "P's" fit inside a "Q," and four "Q's" fit inside a big, enormous "G."

It's like "the woman who swallowed a fly" for cups and quarts!

It still takes a few minutes of mental visualization, but with this diagram in mind, you can easily figure out that there are four cups in a quart, 16 cups in a gallon, and so on.

CB, you're right. But, that's the thing.......I'm trying to AVOID using measuring cups and such. Even trying to avoid filling up a 32 oz. Gatorade bottle 4 X. Trying to find a jug of spring water that's one gallon. I don't buy milk by the gallon. I buy it by the quart or half gallon.
Ok, I could save empty milk 1/2 gallon jugs. And use 2 of them.
But, those are some cool diagrams, CB. :-)
Thank you , everyone for your answers.

101.4 ounces is the same as 3 quarts 5.4 ounces.
    A gallon is 128 ounces.
I'm not sure why you don't want to take the time to measure with a quart container (4 cups four times) or a half gallon (64 ounces two times).
If your cats are as important as you have convinced me, the little extra effort shouldn't be an issue.
