I don’t remember the circumstance but my mother once confronted an officer for a traffic offense and he admitted he was wrong and offered her his ticket book to write him up………

I am amazed that the cop actually sat still & answered his questions.He must be a very patient cop.

Kudos to Seim.  Police often underwhelm me with their diligence and arrogance.  A sheriff's deputy almost ran my sister (yes, the icky one) off the road once; she raced ahead to catch up, and he pulled her over for speeding.  Before he could say much more, she demanded his badge number, etc. so that she could report him for his carelessness. 

After a suitable apology, my sister was "allowed" to drive away.  

I expect and depend on the police to maintain a safe environment for me.  I don't always like their attitudes and actions, but I will show them the respect they deserve for the position they hold, until such moment as they take advantage of that.
