Staph infection is a triggered by bacteria namely staphylococcus. The bacteria are found in the noses or on the skin. The infection occurs as those bacteria can penetrate into your body and attack some of the organs including bones, heart,joints and lung. Remember that staph infection is extremely fatal. 

A staph infection is caused by a Staphylococcus (or "staph") bacteria. Actually, about 25% of people normally carry staph in the nose, mouth, genitals, or anal area, and don’t have symptoms of an infection. The foot is also very prone to picking up bacteria from the floor. The infection often begins with a little cut, which gets infected with bacteria. This can look like honey-yellow crusting on the skin.

My grand daughter, age 8 had Staph. It is a very scary thing to have. It requires doctor care and very careful cleaning of the arena where Staph has hit. It can close down a school. My grand daughter was lucky. She got well from it in a few weeks (maybe longer) She transferred the disease to her sister but we caught it right away and it cleared up. Good luck to you if you know someone who has it.
