I did like her maybe more in her earlier days. Too bad she was so close to a hospital and still lost her life! Surgery of any kind late in life is very precarious

Ducky i would love to live to be 100. But after 80 i'm done having any test or anything else unless i stop breathing or am bleeding profusely.
tabber....Are you in your 70's yet? As my father used to say, everything moves up a decade as you age, including which decade is "too old" for whatever. lol

People almost seemed to feel obligated to laugh at everything she said, whether funny or just downright rude.....same with Don Rickles, who the last time I watched him "being funny", was just being plain stupid. He even made a comment to his host about him being half asleep, I assume because he wasn't roaring with laughter. You could tell he didn't think Rickles was funny either.
Classy, huh? Not very... I am wondering if they will be able to close her eyes for the showing? So much surgery, so little time...
Rickles' humor never amused me, either. Gotta wonder how either of them managed to be so successful when their schtick was so offensive.

I don't mind humor about others in a teasing way (I can take it too) but I thought that she was downright mean.

I think that she was a weak comedian, and had to depend upon her vulgar and mean spirit to try for a laugh, she was cruel. She was no worse than the men of her time, but being a woman seemed more vulgar. Did anyone remember Red Foxx, he was very nasty...

She said that when she died, she wanted a fan blowing on her hair in the casket, just like Beyoncé. (something like that) I thought that was pretty funny. :)

Charm? Ugh! I thought she was brutal. Did you see her on "The Apprentice"? She was a major "B" to work with and I think that was the real Joan Rivers. :(
Remember the times in which she began, a woman had to compete with the male comedians, and she was crass and vulgar to begin with, so it seemed to be her way to compete. I did not particularly like her or Phyllis Diller.
