What's a homonym?
Sun and son - what do these two words have in common?
That's right, they're homonyms.
Homonyms are words that have different meanings and spellings, but share the same pronunciation.

Poem HAVING FUN WITH HOMONYMS
It would be cool to buzz like a bee, Bore into the soil like a boar, Ride on a burro to the borough, To caw like a crow would thrill to the core. It’d be strange to hear a whale wail, See a bear skinny and bare, Espy an ape without fur on a fir tree And watch a fair gorilla have a hearty fare. What can a dear little deer do with dew And a horse with a neigh that’s hoarse One chews cud then quenches its thirst The other can choose to sing coarse, of course! 23 Feb 2012
