Whose advice to you trust when you need advice?

Whose advice DO you trust.  DO DO DO DO DO DO DO DO DO!

If you have a spiritual guide from whom you seek advice, that's a solid answer as far as I'm concerned.  A class assignment was to read "The Prince", by Machiavelli.  There were a lot of interesting concepts...

Best answer hector! You ol' charmer. :)

Flattery (or, in this case, good old fashioned B$) will get you everywhere! :D

I have a close, long time friend who will always give me a completely honest answer from the heart. I don't always agree with the advice but will not discard it because I believe it is well thought out and therefore, probably correct.

,,,especially when the advice is given with no thought of "What's in it for me".

    Agreed.

A spiritual guide ????? i would want to be sure he was from God,,i am always wary of copy cats,,and he had better talk loud,,because i am a bit deaf,,,,apart from that ,,my wife's reasoning is pretty good...>>>>>>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

By spiritual guide, I meant The Holy Bible, Koran, or other holy book. I really thought you would have put stock in the Bible.

If i put God in a conversation Bob,,the bible is automatically there,,and my wife believes the same as i..Always nice talking Bob..>>>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<<<<<<<

Inquiring mind wants to know.who you consider very wise!

I’ve read that book, even manage to keep a copy around. Didn’t do Machiavelli much good though. Good read……..

Experience can round out a teacher very nicely. A respected teacher is openly confident and respectful of others. Listens and asks questions without blunt demanding responces that would tend to alienate students. The objective of a teacher should be to inspire students to learn how to find answers to their questions rather than just answering the question as we do so much here. Of course we would then be answering questions by instructing others how to find the answers on their own rather than providing answers. As a choice, I found simply blurting out an answer does fill a needed place. Not everyone needs to know every detail about why a cup of water is called for in a recipe or the theory of electrical engineering to change a light-bulb.

I trust the advice given me in mind compared to my own best guess.

    Bob/PKB

"in mind" meaning what? I'm not following your last statement.
    robertgrist

"in mind" I am sad that you do not understand Bob. I"prey" and "in mind" and "events" my prayers are answered. I think of the mind as a simple telephone...but much more and closer.
    Bob/PKB

I am sorry to disappoint you, Robert. I was having trouble going from your thoughts about teachers to your response about advice. I did not connect "in mind" with prayer.

I usually don't accept anyone advice until I get there or " I will cross that brig when I get there" unless someone else has a better solution to the problem. And if that don't solve the problem, Then I know Jesus will give me the answer when you ask Him, never fail for me.

Your answer is a little confusing. You don't accept advice until you get to the problem, which could have been avoided, quite likely, by talking with someone who could offer advice ahead of time...thereby eliminating the bridge completely. Also, if you usually don't accept advice unless someone else has a better solution, how do you know if a better solution exists if you aren't willing to listen in the first place.

I didn't say I wont take someone else advise if it solve the problem, I'm all for it , I've always say two heads his better than one, What I am saying is when your alone and doing something on your own there been time I would not no how to proceed when I got there and would not know even if someone could give me an answer. Well then I would try by putting my trust in God to the solution" But I felt like God was telling me " you will cross that brig when you get there" it was like a trial even though there seem to be no solution. Somehow it was easy to solve as though God answer my question.
    Bob/PKB

OK, so if you are facing a problem, would you ask someone you know and trust to give you some advice?
    rollylariviere

I am saying you should always put your trust in God and not people, sooner or later people will always fail too meet your expectation.
