When I was a kid, I would take anything apart to see how it works, lots of times I got it trouble, like taking mom's hair dryer apart, dad's radio and our dead parakeet. also, when I put things back together, there's always one part left over, that also goes for the parakeet, I think that's why I was unable to bring him back to life. I left out a part.
But I have no answer for you, just sharing my personal experience with taking things apart. :) good luck on your decision, your future depends on it.

Slim Jim, If you're in your first year of college, or if you're college bound in the fall, don't worry about it. You've got 2 years before you have to declare your major. And then, a lot of kids change their mind or change or modify their major. You could take a few of the major classes, see how you like it, then change to a diff major before too much damage is done.

The thing is, what do you like, and what are you good at? Math Science English Mechanics, etc. do you like working with people? Do you like to build things? Are you artistic? These are some of the basic things to consider when you are preparing for a career. In High School, here in the USA, they review these things with the student as they meet with their guidance personal. Good luck, hope you succeed at whatever you decide. Also, as MCM has said above, most colleges in the USA do not declare majors too early, and some call it University College, meaning it is a curriculum which does allow some basic requirements of most all majors, and you may sample some other subjects in an exploratory fashion.
