Lonely At The Top Lyrics
from Guilty: 30 Years of Randy Newman
</header>
Had my pick of any girl
You'd think I'd be happy
But I'm not
Everybody knows my name
But it's just a crazy game
Oh, it's lonely at the top
Listen to the band, they're playing just for me
Listen to the people paying just for me
All the applause, all the parades
And all the money, well, I have made
Oh, it's lonely at the top
Listen all you fools out there
Go on and love me, I don't care
Oh, it's lonely at the top
Oh, it's lonely at the top

"Lonely at the top" or "bottom" has not been an undesirable place for me. Both are isolating, attracting to lightening strikes of opinion, reaction, and emotional charging. Often confusing, misleading, fearful, and drawing reactionary behavior. Praise and fame or contempt and rejection are extremes of opinion. Having saved the world, He was condemned to death...and Barbarous, awaiting death, for his notorious crimes, released and celebrated. I did what I did and commited insainity to regain balance. The world is reactionary.
