    How is this phrase used metaphorically saying " Either we've all got good cards or no one got good card

    It came to me when listening to a guy share at an AA meeting .He was telling us that one of his defects in life was that he was always seeking the adulation ,respect, admiration from others and that this was why he drank ,(strangely)

    I'm not sure why he would make an all inclusive statement like that. People are dealt different cards in life and some of them seem a lot better or a lot worse than others. The talent comes in playing your cards strategically and especially playing the right game. 


    I think he was using the cards to represent life experiences.  Some get less challenging experiences or obstacles than others. 

    This is one of those either/or statements... not a metaphor really ... just an either/or thing... no in-between.
