STRESSORS ONE MAY ENCOUNTER IN NURSING AS A CARRER

Supervisors who can't do their jobs correctly, creating environment of discord
Not enough time for your patients and your paperwork

Departmental assignments and shifts for which you are not suited, but must perform
No down time on the job; must respond to a call promptly
Family and friends who do not respect visiting hours or patient's restrictions

    My suggestions:

    1. Combative patients

    2. Too many patients to look after with too few aids to help out

    3. Long hours, low pay

    4. Lack of acknowledgement for doing both your job and the doctor's job

    5. Working under doctors and physicians who are arrogant and think they are God

Exactly. Especially # 2. They give you too many patients for one nurse to take care of.And if you're honest and conciensious, that can really bother you.The hourly pay is good, tho'.

I was an LPN for 23 years. But, during that time, went back to collge to get a teaching degree ( not in nursing)
