You trained your dog to stay off the bed. So what?

Same thing with my son's dog, who sneaks into the living room and occupies the big leather chair when the rest of us are asleep. NOW, when I let him in for the night, I make him stay in my room. He'd be on the bed if I gave him the OK, but there's not enough room for the cat, him, and me. The cat takes up too much space.

I have always had working dogs. They were never allowed IN THE HOUSE! Let alone on the bed or the sofa.LOL
Growing up, we had LITTLE dogs who enjoyed house privileges, and never had an inside cat. Now, I have an 85 pound beast hogging the chair and a cat who transitioned from outside to inside in a matter of minutes.
My male cat is 16 lbs. He snores.I can't roll over in bed, if he's in the bed, b/c he smashes himself up against my legs to sleep . Plus, he's so warm, he makes me sweat.
NO! We don't have fleas because of our dear kitties, Tommy! Peanut is nowhere NEAR 16 pounds, but she nestles in and won't move, either. I am so careful about trying to turn because I don't want to wake her. Then, about 15 minutes before my alarm, she moves right up to my chin and starts purring and pushing her head under my chin. When I try to read in bed, she rubs on the corner of the book, or tries to push herself between the pages and me. We love our pets, no doubt about it, but sometimes....
