Humanism is a philosophy that emphasizes logic, reason, and science over faith and religion. It is composed of primarily atheist, agnostics, and the nonreligious. Most humanist organizations emphasize a strong ethical stance and urge their members to support their communities and to help their fellow man when ever possible. I myself, am a secular humanist. I don't believe in a supreme being and I think that most of stories in the Bible are myth and fantasy due to the ignorance of the people over the time of it's writing. I realize this will anger some, but that's not my problem. This is something I thought about and researched long and hard before I made up my mind. However, I do respect the right of others to form their own ideas on how to live their lives and all I ask is that they treat me with the same respect.
