And they actually use to give alchohol to people for an anesthetic before the days of anesthesia.
I'd rather have a free bottle in front of me than a pre-frontal lobotomy ;-)

There's different types of alcohol. ethanol we drink Denatured Alcohol has an additive that makes it unfit to drink. Isopropyl (rubbing alcohol) Methonol. Even Acetone. We can run our cars on it, clean and sterilize with it, Von Braun used it as rocket fuel, and we can get drunk on it. one of the most versatile liquid products in the world. :)
To make alcohol legal to sell for medicinal purpose the manufacturer must put additives to it that a terrible taste to drink, otherwise, people would be killing themselves with 97% alcohol that sells for a 80 cents per pint.
