I, myself, am a CAT WOMAN. Cats are sleek, good smelling, loving, independent (they like to think so), purry, furry, and choose wisely who they'll befriend. (Very few, actually)

The minute I go to sleep Peeve curls up where ever she can on my body. She likes my hair and gets tangled in it occasionally. When that happens she get embarassed and when I get her disentangled, she runs and hides.

DOGS 9 CATS 1 Where is Juliana???
    mycatsmom

I love both. It's just that I can't have a dog right now, b/c of my 3 cats who are set in their ways...especially Molly. She thinks she's the queen of this house.Even her brother defers to her.

cats because they don't stink most of the time.

    itsmee

I sure agree. My cat actually smells good. She never ever stinks. She doesn't lick and drool. She doesn't dig in the garden. She doesn't sniff my guests.
Oh smile ... I read your profile. I am sorry. Tell an adult in your world what is going on. Maybe it's not your parents. You know who to trust. I was going to leave here because I got bullied on line .... I may stay. Maybe I'm not the only one. Take care. People here are very caring.
    mycatsmom

dogs chew up everything in the house, too.And they eat inedible objects. Sometimes, you have to get surgery for them if they can't pass the object they ate.

Dogs always, nothing against cats but it's dogs for me!

    itsmee

OK OK! Have it your way. : )
    bustieone

me too, I could never warm up to cats, had them as a kid, but they were barn cats, with a job. They came in during the winter nights, but were not lap cats. Active dogs for me...

I love and have both, but i lean a little towards Dogs.

I'd rather have a mischief of rats for pets than a single cat. Now... what was your question again?

    itsmee

    <--registering shock!
    mycatsmom

he must have never had a cat .
    digger

He did...for about 7 very long and itchy days.

I have the best cat in the world.  Right now she is sitting next to me, with her paw on my arm.  She just wants to be close.  At my feet is my son's dog, who greeted me at the door like he'd not seen me in a week!  In the back yard is my (not housebroken) pup, who will leap into my arms the moment I step outside  (that little kangaroo!).
No way would I choose one of them over the other.

    itsmee

Like choosing between a son and a daughter, huh?
    wonderer

I had a dog AND a cat, also, they took turns getting each other in trouble. The dog chased the cat onto the cuboard. The small dog knew the cat was in the"catnip"and clumsy by now enough to slip and fall with the plate of my leftovers, the dog got his fill,too...as planned. They were confused on occation when the cat was scratching at the back door to go out...like a dog would do...the dog does the unthinkable! Yup!....KittyLitter Box!...some cats and dogs are goofy like that together in the same household...I believe they've got a sense of humor...They like to play with your brain a bit, too!
    itsmee

    almost free entertainment ... ?

I have two cats, I love cats and dogs, well all animals really. I had a dog when I was a boy she lived for about 15 years or so. I couldn't have a dog now, my cats wouldn't accept it. There is a Cocker Spanial living next door, and my boy cat hangs over the fence to tomment him,he hangs by his back legs and pretends to swipe the dog with his paws, little devil. I just hope that they never get too close to each other, I wouldn't want either of them to get hurt.

Funny ... Your stories about animals could make a book for kids (and adults)
    Dollybird

sunny, your cat sounds so funny.
    sunnyB

He is a little character, we had really strong gales blowing last night, and when we got up this morning both cats Sinbad and Wilma had tucked themselves under a large blanket and cushion, which they normally lay on top off. They must have been frightened by the strong wind, and hid, there were just two little faces peaking out from underneath. Bless em.

    I like all old dogs,

    itsmee

    See above, Hector.
    mycatsmom

hector, you can't teach an old dog new tricks ;-)
    bustieone

What do they say about old dogs and old men, I agree, and should get me a new old dog...
    hector5559

No coutry for old dogs or old men,i guess,

Dogs...of course! In rare instances, a cat comes along at someones house and is actually somewhat "sociable" and "interactive" with "us"as we as humans are. Dogs are,in my opinion, one of the most "appreciative" creatures that exist, are under rated. How many cats do you know of that are able to lead a blind person or do other things for humans that a "cat" can never do, even if you could train them, they simply don't have the natural ability. As far as "compatibility".a cat will expect you to inconveniance yourself for petty issues,as opposed to a dog,who will patiently await to please. Yes...I could go on&on...however...to make a long answer even shorter..."DOGS"!

    itsmee

    Uh, CATS! : )
    Dollybird

Cats are more clean than dogs, they dig a hole, use it, and cover it in, a dog just drops poo, and runs off, any way, I love animals in general.

TOUGH CHOICE I LOVE EM BOTH""..!!

There's Ducky in that picture !!

This pic is so cute, I had to copy and save it.

    itsmee

Well, alberz, we're in the minority here but we do know our cats. Do you have a cat now?

Dogs. They are more willing to be attentive companions than cats in my opinion.

The most dangerous dog is the one with the bad owner (imo).

    itsmee

I had a very dangerous cat. Attacked me, she did. I assure you I was her best owner. Two vets told me to put her down. It took years before I could do it. And then I suffered. Ahhh, love. Etti Kat Felinski rests in peace.
    mycatsmom

my cats are so attentive. They never leave me alone. Always bringing me a gift ( their toy) or trying to sit on my lap or otherwise demanding my attention.
    itsmee

mcm: I think my dangerous cat was mentally ill. Really. Sad.

    DOGS!!  Hands Down!!

    itsmee

    Whazzat you thay?
    wonderer

    !!!Paws Down,too!!!I agree!...
    itsmee

    back slightly arched ...
    Vinny

Cats are on an entitlement program, they don't work, only time you see them is when they want their free handout of food, they require specialized living quarters, free medical.

Dogs on the otherhand, will work for these things, they guard the home, they fetch newspapers, entertain guest with dumb dog tricks and they let us dress them up in silly clothes, and no matter how much we embarrass them, they will always meet you at the door wagging tail and lick your face with dog snot!! How could you not love a dog?? cats are absolutely non-productive, they don't like anybody, sometimes they don't even like their master. (if you can say you are master to cat) They scratch everything in their path-- Might as well have a rodent running around. But they are 'cute' when they are kittens, but when they turn into cats, its like Dr. Jeckle and Mr. Hyde. :)

i wolud buy a dog if my mom ask to

    itsmee

I wish you good luck. Just see what all those people say about DOGS.
    sunnyB

Do you mean, you would get a dog if you mum said it was ok. Keep working on it, good luck.
    Dollybird

Vinny, how can you say cats dont work, who keeps the mice and rats at bay.
    BOTH lOVE THEM BOTH
    itsmee

I couldn't stand the way my Golden smelled. My son said, "That's just the way dogs smell. It's natural.) After that I was much more accepting of Dog Smell. Really. : )
    mycatsmom

Itsmee, Dogs shouldn't smell that bad, if you bathe them. The only time dogs really smell, is when they're outside rolling around in their poop,or other dogs'poop.
    itsmee

Our Golden was VERY clean. At the time of my first experience with a dog - any dog really - I found they do have an odor

We would not have a dirty dog! Ever. : (((

Clonge: Help! Bring me some of that Watermelon wine. : ) I boil.
    melandrupert

The best to wash them is In a river a flowing run then all you would smell is wet fur then it goes I would never use dog shampoo too many chemicals if you do have to bath a dog I would only use a baby shampoo one with no tears in it it's quite harmless
    itsmee

It was the job of my son and my husband. They kept Annie shiny and as sweet smelling as is humanly possible. : )
    digger

Dish soap is cheaper...and soft on hands too.
    melandrupert

Digger I think dish soap does have loads of chemicals I checked this out as Hubby is a Industrial Chemist and said far too many chemicals in dish soap it might well be cheaper I still say a river swim is the best but if you don't have river near you then baby soap is the best but most dogs will clean them selves thanks Digger x
