Do you think it would be a good idea for them to hide in those first line trenches, or should they spread out more and be less "organized"? Who is the enemy? Where is the forest? Why does the enemy need to dig trenches and hide?
Your question is scaring me! I'm glad I don't live near a forest!

War is becoming obsolete especially trench war and ground crews of military personal. Modern war has become friendlies calling in targeting info for drone crews in other parts of the world. Sort of “Dial a hit", with the US as the drone and munitions provider. We could go a step further and train friendlies to operate the drones from here as the responsible shot controller. The application of trench warfare ended in Iraq with metal rain. Nuclear weapons are the excessive use of force in any armed conflict but for the need to re-direct incoming astroids away from dooms day events.
