Do you have a strategy to stop your partner from snoring (other than the poke in the side)?

Some people say the Breath Free Nasal strips help to cut down on snoring. And there's a soft, rubber, apparatus that you can put inside you nose to open up your breathing passages.that's supposed to help with snoring. Using a homeopathic nose drops is supposed to moisten  the inside of your nasal pasages, and your larnyx........to cut down on snoring. Ditto for using normal saline wtih a neti pot. Some people get surgery to have a little of the soft palate cut away..........that's the culprit that causes snoring. Some people get an uvulaectomy to help with breathing and thus cuts down on snoring.I know a woman that did that. She said she wouldn't do it again, if she had a chance to do it over.

Personally, I'm an advocate of sleeping in separate beds. You can still have sex, and cuddle , and then go into the other room after the snorer starts snoring.

foam ear plugs. Women can be LOUD snorers too! My mom was worse than my dad !

I've tried virtually everything short of putting the pillow over her face, if you come up with a solution other than moving into another room, let me know!  ;)

How ironic, we were discussing my snoring capabilities this morning.

@ Bustie, I think Roy gets a kick out of holding my nose shut until I wake up gasping for air. He's sooooo nice! (*~*)

I have thought of the pillow more than once over the years. I have a second room, usually, but daughter and her family have moved back for 4 mo. now. Their house will be ready in early Dec. (I hope). I use OTC "pain relief with sleep aid" 1-2 pills, I sleep good with that.

get her checked out for sleep apnea mate,, if she has to wear a mask, it will just mean a different noise

She finally did sleep studies, marginal apnea, they didn't require the machine. She has 2 brothers, one used it, other did need but not use. Thanks..

I snore when I sleep laying on my back, if I lay on one side I don't.

I snore even when I'm on my side.

I used to wake him up and tell him he was snoring. Then he went to a sleep center and was diagnosed with sleep apnea and now he sleeps with a C-Pap machine and we both sleep well and awake refreshed! All is well, thank goodness.

I'm happy for ya, witchy .
    P.S. I accidently pushed T D .then I pushed T U . Hope it worked.

Thanks for all the input, people.  If I ever have a bed partner again who snores (which I've never had to deal with, thankfully), there will be many options to alleviate the problem.  Hopefully, it won't be ME!!!
