If you're limping on your right leg, should you use the cane on your right or left side?

My low right back & hip hurt when I walk (as does my upper rt leg).....It seems to hurt more if I use the cane on my right side...does this make any sense?

Whatever works best for you is the side you should use the cane on.

If it's Sciatica, a stick is not always helpful, steady exercise is best. But it may be something worse, have you consulted your doctor?

sunnyB, Thank you for your responce...it seems I have lumbar degenerative disks, a pinched nerve, and a bulding disk, stenosis and severe arthritis...Apparently, there are so many things wrong they do not recommend surgery...bicycling, swimming and alternate ice & heat. So far still in a lot of pain. OY.....Thank you for your suggestions.
