I believe that it is real, yes. With more success, comes more responsibility and more accountability. Many, lack the confidence to move ahead and handle that change. Therefore, deep inside they're saying, "Please don't allow me to become successful".    :(

wow ,,, at the same time they say "Please don't let me fail"

    Yep.

Consult not your fears but your hopes and your dreams. Think not about your frustrations, but about your unfulfilled potential. Concern yourself not with what you tried and failed in, but with what it is still possible for you to do.

    sounds like Kahlil Gibran too.

Sure it’s real for some people. Success is the end of the road, no more trying, no more progress, an anticlimax ending……...

I think it's the fear of failure which makes us fear the thought of success, because we all try things that we can't always succeed . We have to accept that we may fail , but we are all good at something, so I think we should look at what we are good at and be thankful for  what we have achieved.

    Dennis,

With success, comes a lot of hard work, worry and heavy respondsibility . Maybe that's why some people would be afraid to take the steps of the ladder all the way up to the top rung.

    I shouldn't but I've just got to ....

'As you climb the ladder to success
Don't let the boys look up your dress."

Obviously most folk simply do not want a life of fabulous jewels, vast homes in many parts of the world, Bankers begging for your business  amid a world of poverty ridden children playing in the streets of filth and sewerage. No, most of our worlds people have chosen to ignore the wealthy in all their glitz and glory and stand beside the not so rich and not so clean, to shake their hands with their own sweaty palms and prey together to God in thanks for our every day and every way of the life we live. I cannot stand above you and be one with you my dear friends.
